Overview: The Centre for Social Impact Technology (CSIT) is seeking a talented and passionate Volunteer Blog Writer to help us create engaging and informative blog content that will help us connect with our audience and promote our mission of creating positive social change through technology. As a Volunteer Blog Writer, you will work closely with the Lead and the rest of the CSIT team to craft compelling blog posts that inform, inspire, and engage our readers.
Key Responsibilities:
Write high-quality, original blog content on a variety of topics related to social impact technology, including but not limited to artificial intelligence, data privacy, and digital inclusion.
Conduct research and gather information from a variety of sources to ensure the accuracy and relevance of your blog posts.
Collaborate with the Communications Manager and other team members to develop blog content that aligns with CSIT’s mission and goals.
Edit and proofread your own work, as well as the work of other writers, to ensure that all content is free of errors and conforms to CSIT’s style and tone.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in social impact technology to ensure that CSIT’s blog content is informative and relevant.
Qualifications:
Excellent written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to write in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
A passion for social impact technology and a deep understanding of its potential to create positive change in society.
Strong research skills and the ability to gather and analyze information from a variety of sources.
Experience writing for a blog or other online publication, preferably in the social impact or technology space.
Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress and the ability to format and publish blog posts.
A strong work ethic and the ability to manage your own time effectively.
A commitment to CSIT’s mission and values.
This is an unpaid volunteer position that requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.
