The Centre for Social Impact Technology (CSIT) is seeking a skilled and motivated volunteer Web Developer to help improve and maintain our website. The volunteer will play an integral role in building and strengthening our online presence and promoting our mission of creating positive social change through technology. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead to ensure that our website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Lead to identify areas for improvement on the CSIT website.
Develop and implement website features and functionality to improve the user experience and achieve our strategic goals.
Ensure that the CSIT website is visually appealing, easy to navigate, and optimized for search engines.
Test and troubleshoot website issues to ensure optimal performance across all devices and browsers.
Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the CSIT website.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in web development.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a web developer, with expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant programming languages.
Experience with website development and design, including user experience and interface design.
Familiarity with website optimization techniques (SEO, speed optimization, etc.) and website analytics tools (Google Analytics, etc.).
Experience working with content management systems, such as WordPress or Squarespace.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
A strong work ethic and the ability to manage your own time effectively.
A commitment to CSIT’s mission and values.
This is an unpaid volunteer position that requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.
