Overview: The Centre for Social Impact Technology (CSIT) is seeking a motivated and creative volunteer Communications and Social Media Coordinator to help us create engaging and informative content for our online channels. The volunteer will play an integral role in building and strengthening our brand and promoting our mission of creating positive social change through technology. The successful candidate will work closely with the Lead to develop and implement our social media strategy and create content for our website, newsletter, and other communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and implementation of CSIT’s social media strategy to increase our online presence and engagement.
Create and curate compelling and shareable content (including graphics and videos) for our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
Monitor and respond to comments and messages on our social media channels in a timely and professional manner.
Assist with the creation and distribution of our monthly newsletter.
Draft and edit blog posts, press releases, and other content for our website.
Monitor website analytics and social media metrics to track engagement and adjust strategy as needed.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments in digital marketing and social media.
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and ability to write in a clear, concise, and engaging manner.
A passion for social impact technology and a deep understanding of its potential to create positive change in society.
Experience managing social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.) for a brand or organization.
Proficiency in graphic design and video editing software (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, iMovie, etc.).
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) and content management systems (e.g. WordPress, Squarespace, etc.).
A strong work ethic and the ability to manage your own time effectively.

This is an unpaid volunteer position that requires a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.
